The warp is the set of strings that are on the loom, the worker knots onto them or weaves into it. When weaving, those yarns are called the weft. Neat words! I was wondering what material is being used for the warp of your rugs. Oriental rugs are often cotton warp. Old European rugs usually linen. I used linen - it’s strong & durable & doesn’t stretch much when weaving under a lot of tension.
